KOA Speer Electronics announces the release of a new compact 0402-size pulse/surge current thick film chip resistor that features enhanced ESD protection. KOA Speer’s new thick film chip resistors offer excellent performance in pulse and/or surge handling, with a resistance range between 1Ω ~ 10MΩ. These high performance pulse/surge current resistors also feature a T.C.R. of ±100ppm/K, with tolerances of ±0.5%, ±1%, ±2% and ±5%. In addition to the 0402 size, the SG73S and SG73P series are also available in sizes from 0603 to 1210.

KOA Speer’s SG73P/S series provide stable, reliable performance in demanding pulse/surge applications, including: power supplies, telecommunications, motor controls and circuit protection devices.

- Improves Corrosion Resistance and Ability to Withstand Higher Temperatures

KOA Speer Electronics announces the release of a new metal foil technology in chip type current sense resistors that improves corrosion resistance and its ability to withstand higher temperatures. The TLRH Series Resistor has a carrier metal plate now constructed with a new metal alloy, improving performance and reliability.

The TLRH series chip type resistors are designed for current detection, offering an ultra low resistance range between 10m? ~ 250m?. These high performance current sense resistors have a T.C.R. of ±75ppm/K and ±50ppm/K, with a tolerance of 1%. The TLRH series are available with power ratings of 0.25W, 1W and 2W, and sizes 0805, 2010 and 2512. KOA Speer's TLRH series is designed for a wide range of applications, including: automotive, computer, telecommunications, medical, and power supplies industry such as desktop PC, laptop PC, mobile PC and converter power supplies.

KOA Speer’s new thick film 0201-SR731H resistor has a power rating of 0.10 Watts, a T.C.R. of 0 ~ 500ppm/ºC and a low-Ohm resistance range of 0.18 – 10?. The new resistor size also has tolerances of +/-1 or +/-5%, with a maximum overload voltage of 2.5V and an absolute max. working voltage of 1.0V. The miniature size of the new 0201 device makes the chip ideal for applications such as computers, HDDs, cellular phones, power supplies and motor circuits. The SR73 current sense chip resistor is also available in the following sizes: 0402, 0603, 0802, 1206, 1210, 2010 and 2512.The new generation of compact fans are divided into five series with sizes ranging from 80 to 172 mm. Each series represents the benchmark in its class with respect to air performance and pressure build-up with optimum motor efficiency and long service life. These compact fans reach nominal speeds up to 14,000 rpm and operating values that had previously been attained only by large fans. To harness this much power in a minimal space requires outstanding strength.
